The season started here for the squad with two weeks of boot camp to get everyone fit and mentally focused, ready for the long season ahead in the nPower Championship.

Tours of Devon and Cornwall and a trip to Italy proved fruitful for the R's as they prepared for the start of the Championship Season.

"Over the pre-season the lads have stuck together, gelled really well and socialised so we've got a brilliant team spirit here. And that's so important - It's massive, absolutely massive. A strong team spirit can get you anywhere." New signing, Clint Hill.

Loftus Road was alive and ready for the season to start and what a start! A stunning display by the team, as they beat Barnsley 4-0.

The matches came thick and fast and, except for an early exit in the Carling Cup, Rangers enjoyed the perfect start to the season, with August ending with QPR top of the table.

Going from strength to strength, Rangers set the early pace by only dropping two points out of a possible 15 and not conceeding a single goal. Nine games unbeaten and six points clear at the top of the table. Come on you R's!

Neil Warnock also completed his Summer signings before the transfer window closed, with the captures of Rob Hulse and Tommy Smith.

After an increadible run of results, the team started October well against Crystal Palace. However, a run of four draws, home and away saw Rangers drop to second in the table, yet still unbeaten.

"It's took the best header I've seen in years to win the game. It was just a fantastic goal. He's jumped miles ahead of everybody else and put it in. My lot don't know when they're beaten...We're really enjoying it at the minute. I can't speak highly enough of the players...It's just a fantastic start." Neil Warnock

Rangers had their biggest match of the season to date with the visit of Cardiff City to Loftus Road, who were looking to take back the top spot. Adel Taarabt, however, had other ideas, scoring the winning goal in the 68th minute. It was a strike that raised the Loftus Road roof.

"I thought this was a cracking advertisement for the Championship, I really enjoyed it - and I would have said that regardless of the score. "Loftus Road was absolutely buzzing today. Cardiff more than played their part. It just whets your appetite and leaves you wanting more." Neil Warnock

After a tough start to the month that included the R's first league defeat of the season, Rangers showed great character to hit back with one of their best performances of the season.

"You'd be lying if you said it wasn't going better than planned. We never in our wildest dreams thought we'd be in this position at the turn of the year so you've got to embrace it…It's a great position to be in." Shaun Derry

After a busy January and the loss of Jamie Mackie, Rangers were still able to maintain a lead at the top of the Championship. Norwich City became the latest Club to challenge for automatic promotion, five points behind the R's.

Neil Warnock strengthened his squad towards the end of the month, bringing back fans' favourites Danny Shitu and Wayne Routledge, whilst also capturing Ishmael Miller from West Bromwich Albion. Routladge made an immediate impact by scoring our late winner against Coventry City.

Unbeaten in February and only dropping four points from a possible 18, the month started and ended with victories, including a memorable 10-man win at Reading and a 3-0 victory at Middlesbrough.

"That is what we're all in the game for. You can't beat how I'm feeling tonight. I thought that my players were outstanding. They were all heroes tonight. This is one of the best results of my career. It certainly feels like that." Neil Warnock

With only 12 matches left, March saw Loftus Road filled to capacity for both home matches. The team responded in fine fashion and took maximum points off Leicester City and Crystal Palace and, by the end of the month the R's had a nine point lead at the top.

The match against Leicester City was heading for a 0-0 draw until a tactical masterstroke by Neil Warnock - with Ishmael Miller coming on to replace Adel Taarabt - proving pivotal. Wayne Routledge picked up possession on the left in the 88th minute and, when his threaded through pass found Miller, the loan ranger netted his first goal for the R's to send Loftus Road into raptures.

"Over the pre-season the lads have stuck together, gelled really well and socialised so we've got a brilliant team spirit here. And that's so important - It's massive, absolutely massive. A strong team spirit can get you anywhere." New signing, Clint Hill.

An impressive 3-0 win against Sheffield United at the start of the month kept us nine points clear at the top. After a shock 4-1 away defeat to relegation threatened Scunthorpe United, the team responded in typical fashion with a hard fought 1-0 victory against Barnsley at Oakwell. An outstanding 2-2 draw away to Cardiff City meant that the R's could clinch promotion and the League title with an away win at Watford. The team rose to the challenge with goals from Adel Taarabt, who else, and Tommy Smith sealing a 2-0 victory to send the R's back to the Premier League for the first time in 15 years. Championes!
